What makes Thermera Thumb Brace different?

The Thermera Thumb brace is designed by a certified hand therapist and combines heat and stability for a one-of-a-kind design for thumb pain. The X strapping at the base of the thumb creates support for first CMC arthritis, de quervain’s and other generalized thumb pain. The heating elements in the brace provide soothing relief to ease pain and help with stiff and achy muscles.

What is a Certified Hand Therapist?

A Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is an occupational or physical therapist who has advanced training and expertise in treating conditions of the hand, wrist, and arm. To earn the CHT credential, a therapist must complete at least 4,000 hours of direct hand therapy practice, have a minimum of three years of clinical experience, and pass a rigorous national certification exam.

Do I need one for each hand?

It depends! The Thermera Thumb Brace is designed to provide heat and support to the painful thumb. If both of your thumbs hurt, it would be beneficial to get a left and a right hand brace. If only one thumb hurts, we recommend buying that side, trying it, and then deciding if you would like one for both hands.

Do you have more than one size?

The Thermera Thumb Brace is designed to fit most hand sizes. The base of the brace attaches with velcro. For the smaller hand circumference, there is velcro on the inside of the hand brace and for the larger hand circumference, there are extended straps to make the brace wider. Are there different heat levels?

Yes! The brace has three different heat levels so you can choose the heat intensity that you prefer.

Who is this brace NOT recommended for?

We do not recommend this brace for people who have neuropathy problems or decreased sensation in which they may have a hard time determining if the brace becomes to hot. This brace is not recommended for children. Check with your doctor if you have other concerns about if the brace is right for you.

How long does the battery last?

On a full charge, the battery lasts up to 2 hours, depending on usage and heat setting. For best results, charge fully before use and avoid extreme temperatures.
